IGI blends documentary reality with artistic expression to examine the cost of being "unlike others." It
presents a lyrical reflection on LGBTQI+ identity in Georgian society, combining symbolic storytelling
with lived experience. The albino girl from Rustavi becomes a visual metaphor for otherness,
visibility, and vulnerability. Inspired by Jemal Karchkhadze's allegorical short story Igi, this film
explores the theme of being different in a society that values conformity. The narrative also draws on
real events from Georgia—specifically the violent anti-LGBTQI+ protests of May 17, 2013, and July
5, 2021
